Proses Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Siswa SMP Materi Bentuk Aljabar melalui Model Problem-Based Learning

Problem-solving is one of theÃÂ skills theÃÂ studentsÃÂ need toÃÂ master when learning mathematics. Based on observations, researchers found that students' mathematical problem-solving skills areÃÂ lackingÃÂ because students prioritizeÃÂ theÃÂ learning outcomes than understanding the process of solving a problem. One of the teacher's efforts to solve these problems is to apply a problem-based learning model. This studyÃÂ aimed to investigateÃÂ the process of students' mathematical problem-solvingÃÂ skillsÃÂ based on Polya's theory. The research conductedÃÂ wasÃÂ qualitative. The subjects were 2ÃÂ out ofÃÂ 30ÃÂ Year 7ÃÂ students selected based onÃÂ theÃÂ test results and information from the teacher,ÃÂ the selected students are oneÃÂ high-ability student and one student low abilityÃÂ student. Data collectionÃÂ involvedÃÂ tests and interviews. The results showed thatÃÂ high ability students wasÃÂ able to solve problems based on the four stages of Polya, whileÃÂ the low abilityÃÂ studentÃÂ wasnot be able to do manyÃÂ processÃÂ of Polya. Therefore, there is still a need for closer teacher attention towardsÃÂ theÃÂ students.
