Abstract.àààPhytochemistry and biologicalàààactivity investigation àof medical àplants was an important step in exploring of their potency. The objectives àof this research were to determine the antioxidant activity of the extract and purified isolate of C. alata àleave and also, àto àelucidate of àthe molecular structure of àthe àresponsible molecule. The methods used were extraction, àisolation and purification by means of chromatography, DPPH radical scavenging and spectroscopy. Result of the research provided antioxidant activity was (ED5o)àà28.50ñ1.86 õg/mL foràthe extract and 9.99ñ0.28 àõMàfor àthe àpurified àisolate. àElucidation toward àthe àpurified àisolate indicatedààkaemferolààstructureààasààtheààmostààactiveààantioxidantààcompound.
