Pengaruh Media Tanam dan Waktu Penyiraman Urin Manusia terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Serapan N Tanaman Selada (Lactuca sativa L.) pada Ultisol

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media tanam dan waktu penyiraman urin manusia terhadap pertumbuhan dan serapan N tanaman selada. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas dua faktor yaitu media tanam (M0 = Tanah (kontrol), M1 = Tanah + Sabut Kelapa, M2 = Tanah + Arang Sekam, M3 = Tanah + Kompos) dan waktu penyiraman urin manusia (W0 = Tanpa Penyiraman, W1 = 2 kali/minggu, W2 = 3 kali/minggu). Parameter yang diamati yaitu: tinggi tanaman, luas daun, berat brangkasan segar, berat brangkasan kering, panjang akar, volume akar dan serapan nitrogen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media tanam (M) memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, berat brangkasan segar, berat brangkasan kering, panjang akar, volume akar, kadar nitrogen dan serapan nitrogen tanaman. Waktu penyiraman urin (W) berpengaruh nyata terhadap berat brangkasan segar, berat brangkasan kering, kadar nitrogen dan serapan nitrogen tanaman. Interaksi media tanam dan waktu penyiraman urin manusia berpengaruh nyata terhadap kadar nitrogen tanaman.(The Influence of Planting Media and the Time of Watering Human Urine on the Growth and Lettuce Nitrogen Uptake (Lactuca sativa L.) on Ultisols)Abstract. This study aims to determine the influence of planting media and the time of watering of human urine on growth and absorption of lettuce nitrogen. The study used a completelly randomized design (CRD) with two factors: planting medium (M0 = Soil (control), M1 = Soil + Coconut Mesocarp, M2 = Soil + Rice Husk Charcoal, M3 = Soil + Compost) and time of human urine watering (W0 = No watering, W1 = twice/week, W2 = thrice/week). Parameters observed: plant height, leaf area, fresh weight, dry weight, root length, root volume and nitrogen uptake. The results showed that planting media (M) gave significant effect to plant height, fresh weight, dry weight, root length, root volume, nitrogen content and plant nitrogen uptake. The time of watering human urine (W) significantly affected the fresh weight, dry weight, nitrogen content and plant nitrogen uptake. Interaction of planting medium and time of watering human urine significantly affected the nitrogen content.
