This paper describes a new design of Bill-of-Materials (BOM) software that named Simple-Bill-of-Materials (S-BOM). Our objective in this software is to list the information of object by easy visual interaction technique and its effectiveness. A list of interaction techniques is incorporated in this software to allow the user to navigate through and manipulate both 2D and 3D object model. In order to explore through the object, the software provides other interaction techniques between the user and system to complete BOM tasks. In this software, the tasks a user should do are mainly extraction of 3D object's information, grouping the polygon that built the materials and generate the list of BOM. This S-BOM addresses the issue of effective interaction by combining degree of freedom (DOF) method, bounding box method, virtual trackball method and transformation method. The scope of this paper focuses on visual interaction techniques, with the application of these techniques.
