Design FINER as a Fire Detection and Overcurrent Protection on Electrical Installation Cables

Electricity has become a basic need to support human life and activities. It raises some problems that cause property losses and causing death. One of the main problems is the damaged of cable isolation that causes a fire. Therefore, this research is proposed FINER (Fire Point Detector on Isolation Cable) as a system to prevent fire. FINER can be easily installed on the electrical installation in the housing building. The system can automatically send warning information through a short message service via the GSM module to the user. Then an alarm will be active when the fire occurs. This system also has a current sensor that connected to the Arduino. If there is an overcurrent, the utility grid to the building will be disconnected. Thus, the proposed system is promising for handling the fire problems in the future.
