A code reconfiguration design for two-dimensional (2-D) OCDMA system to enhance security is proposed in this paper. An algorithm for 2-D codes reconfiguration is presented. The new 2-D OCDMA codes are constructed by using quasi-groups (QGs) and one-dimensional (1-D) optical orthogonal codes (OOCs), then called QQ/OOCs. The proposed QQ/OOCs can provide more codewords and many different code sets for a given code parameters with the same cardinality that can be used for code reconfiguration to increase the degree of data confidentiality. A brief security analysis is discussed. Finally, bit error probability performance of the proposed codes is evaluated analytically.
