Syiah Kuala Sub-district is one of the sub-districts in Banda Aceh City that experienced very high liquefaction susceptibility. This research aimed to determine the subsurface lithology that has the potential to occur liquefaction by using resistivity method with Wenner-Schlumberger configuration. Based on the analysis of resistivity data showed that the low resistivity was directly related to liquefaction potential that occurs in the region. The result in this research indicated that the subsurface lithology of Syiah Kuala Sub-district was dominated by sand and mixture of sand and clay with varying thickness. Syiah Kuala Sub-district had very high liquefaction susceptibility with resistivity value less than 2.85 ohm.m and dominated by sand. Therefore, further study is required in the development of the region.
