Perception and Application of Environmental Management Systems in the Village of Nusa Kabupaten Aceh Besar

The increasing of economy in a region has caused housing to grow rapidly, not only in the city and even in the countryside. Changing the function of plantation / agricultural land to become densely populated housing, causing a negative impact due to development which often ignores aspects of building environment management. One of the efforts that can be done is by encouraging public awareness, especially about waste management in the form of simple garbage starting from each home is one option to facilitate the recycling process as mentioned in the Greenship homes version 1.0 issued by the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI). This study assessed the perceptions and application of environmental management aspects of buildings according to the Greenship Homes Version 1.0 reference through research instruments in the form of questionnaires and direct interviews with respondents. The results showed that respondents' perceptions of Environmental Management Buildings were categorized quite important with an average value of perception that was equal to 53.05%. As for its implementation, overall it can be categorized into quite good categories with the average value of application that is equal to 64.49%
